    Harriet Markis

    Profile

    Harriet Markis of Markis Consulting Engineering, PLLC is licensed to practice Structural Engineering in New York State. She maintains an active membership in ASCE, ACI, and SEoNY.

    She has nearly forty years of experience in projects of varying types and natures, involving not only new construction, but also the analysis of existing structures including restoration work on landmark buildings. The variety of her work has required not only familiarity with the typical materials used in concrete, steel, masonry and wood construction, but also the more decorative historic materials such as cast iron and terra cotta. She has prepared feasibility studies as well as construction documents for various clients.

    As a means of maintaining a professional posture and to contribute to the furtherance of her selected discipline, Harriet Markis is a Professor at Pratt Institute and at Parsons, The New School.
