    Emily Spray

    Profile

Originally from Portland Oregon, Emily Spray moved to New York City to study shoe design and construction at The Fashion Institute of Technology. She has been an active member of the New York City art and design scene since the early 90's. Being raised within a community of artists, architects and designers, she has always been drawn to and worked with independant filmmakers, artists, designers and entrepreneurs. She is committed to locally sourced materials and regional manufaturing, believing that local makers movements can lead to humanitarian and sustainable design and production.  Joining the shoe design department in 2015, Emily brings to Parsons a strong commitment to sustainability and insight into the the emerging slow design movement, while also bringing 25 years of experience in shoe design and construction.

Emily has maintained collections for both Emily Spray Shoes & Handbags and Children's Wear line Chickpea Kid. Her products have found placement in premiere boutiques such as Calypso, Matta, Sweet William, Museum of American Folk Art and Acorn Toy Shop. Her work has been featured in Earnshaw trade magazine, Italian Collezione, Remodalista, and Domino Magazine and Market Place. With both national and international visability, Emily Spray actively participates in the DIY community via Etsy and hosts her online marketplace via www.emilyspray.com
