    Aviva Maya Shulem Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, was immersed in the world of fashion and design from an early age. After being awarded officer status in the Israeli army, Aviva moved to New York City. Arrived in 1998. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, 2002, Aviva began her professional career working as furniture, lighting and home accessories design for Donghia, Inc., as well as product design and development management for Swarovski LTD. Throughout the years, she honed her unique vision by partnering with leaders from the worlds of art, architecture, design, and technology.

    Expanding her expertise in design and product development, Aviva founded Aviva Maya Design, a design consulting studio, in early 2014. Along with serving as a Part-time faculty, Aviva also partners with corporations, non-profits and design studios to deliver design expertise, training, product design management and brand strategy for home accessories, lighting, furniture, and interior styling. In her design practice, Aviva is focusing on artisanal & hand-made goods, while exploring modern trends and innovations in digital fabrication.

    Aviva enjoys collaborating and sharing her knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm for design with students.
