Benjamin is an Assistant Professor in the School of Art, Media and Technology at Parsons The New School for Design. He teaches a wide variety of technology, collaboration and design studios. Beginning in 2006, he participated and helped organize a annual 1-month summer program at Tsinghua University - Academy of Information Art and Design (IAD) in Beijing, China. Each year the summer program collaborates with a wide range of Universities and organizations such as Tsinghua University in Beijing, China Academy Fine Arts in Hangzhou, SIVA/Fudan University in Shanghai, eARTS Shanghai, Nokia Research Beijing, Mercy Corps, IDEO and BBH International. In 2010 Benjamin was awarded a grant from the AMD Foundation for an educational project for migrant Youth at the Dandelion Middle School in Beijing.Benjamin also serves as the Information Technology Manager at Parsons Institute of Information Mapping (PIIM) and has 15 years of Information Technology experience incorporating a broad spectrum of technology, engineering, management and implementation work for companies such as West Group (Thomson Legal and Regulatory), Omnipod, Inc. and Schenker. Recent notable projects at PIIM include: The Geospace and Media Tool (GMT) for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the Millennium Development Goals Monitor with the United Nations.Benjamin has a BA in Cinema Studies from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and an MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons The New School for Design. He is a new media artist, technologist and musician who has exhibited in the USA, Europe and Asia.
