Marisa Lerer is a doctoral candidate in the Art History program at CUNY Graduate Center, specializing in modern and contemporary Latin American art with a focus on post-dictatorship art in Argentina. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree from New York University. She received a Master's in Latin American Studies from UCLA with an emphasis on political science and art history. She has worked with El Museo del Barrio as a researcher and editorial assistant. She is the recipient of many awards including a Fulbright IIE Fellowship and was a Smithsonian Latino Center Museum Studies fellow.
