Assistant Professor of Architecture, Constructed Environments
Andrew Bernheimer is a Brooklyn-based architect and the Principal of Bernheimer Architecture. Bernheimer was a founding partner of the award-winning firm Della Valle Bernheimer and is an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Master of Architecture program at Parsons, the New School for Design. His work has been the subject of over fifty articles and publications. In 2009 "Think/Make", a monograph on the first decade of his practice at Della Valle Bernheimer, was published by Princeton Architectural Press. His diverse portfolio of public, institutional, non-profit, and private work with wide-ranging contexts and diverse client personalities has elicited a welcome variety of thought and response. Bernheimer Architecture focuses on New York’s urban landscape through research and built work and their portfolio includes research, civic, private residential and affordable housing projects. Bernheimer’s work has won numerous awards, including those from the AIANYC, AIANY, and AIA Los Angeles, amongst others. Bernheimer is a licensed Architect in New York State and Rhode Island and a member of NCARB. He is a member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects), a Fellow at the Institute for Urban Design and a member of the Architectural League of New York.
