James brings his extensive industry experience in merchandising, product development, international business and fabric research and development to Parsons School of Design. His current passion for sustainable design allows him to travel extensively to source innovative fabrics and research sustainable raw materials and manufacturing processes. He shares his knowledge and expertise with fashion design and merchandising students by taking innovative curricular approaches to teaching by building a variety of onsite, online, and hybrid learning environments that are unique and challenging.
In 2015 he joined C.L.A.S.S. www.classecohub.org the Milan based eco-smart platform to launch a new division, C.L.A.S.S. Education. The goal is to share knowledge, introduce ideas, and present smart eco-solutions to empower like-minded fashion professionals and motivate them to transform their current business model to set forth positive change. C.L.A.S.S. Education develops dynamic customized short and long-term programs centered in Milan that specialize in design synergy, innovative textile research and strategic communication. The programs introduce fashion professionals to a new generation of textile technologies and training that include onsite textile supply chain assessment, hands-on material analysis, luxury fashion tours, and interactive Eco-Fashion workshops.
C.L.A.S.S. Education is the brainchild of long-time collaborators, Giusy Bettoni, founder and CEO of C.L.A.S.S. and James Mendolia, creative-thinker, experienced product developer and educator. Together they have an extensive international network of expert collaborators and resources. firstname.lastname@example.org
