• Daniel G Hill

    Assistant Professor of Fine Arts

    Office Location:

    Sheila Johnson Design Center

Daniel G. Hill has been exhibiting in the Americas, Europe and Asia for over 30 years. His current work is a meditation on the nature and meaning of the digital print in the context of the perplexing network of abstraction, illusion and representation. "A common aspect of all of my work is the tendency to give rise to the questions, 'What am I looking at, how do I relate to it and how do I understand it?' Such self-reflexive viewing is my goal, as an artist's role is to remind us of our capacity to wonder." Hill's work is in the collections of the MoMA Library Special Collection, the Art in Embassies Program of the U.S. Deptartment of State, the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, AR and the Jingdezhen Sanbao Ceramic Institute in Jingdezhen City, China. In addition to teaching at The New School, Hill has held positions at The College of the Holy Cross, Princeton University and Hunter College, CUNY. Since March of 2013, he has been serving as President of American Abstract Artists. He earned his BA from Brown University, Magna Cum Laude, and MFA from Hunter College, CUNY.
