Revisiting the AIDS Crisis - Surviving, Uniting, Anger and the Plague: A Conversation with David France and Jim Hubbard

11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

This conversation will bring together directors David France and Jim Hubbard, who have never before spoken on the same stage, concerning their documentation of the events that unfolded during early days of the ongoing AIDS pandemic and subsequent activism. The evening's discussion will be moderated by Tony Whitfield, Associate Dean of Civic Engagement at Parsons The New School for Design.

Screenings of their gripping documentaries, How to Survive a Plague and United in Anger will precede the conversation, along with a screening of the film The Other City, directed by Susan Koch.

Each activity within the series is designed to foster critical thinking and brainstorms that will seek solutions to real world health concerns. Developed by students and organizations, supportive services and academic programs, the series by its very development is built on a framework of collaboration that promotes interdisciplinary approaches.
