Join us for a three-day, public conference where scholars, policy makers, and philanthropists will examine the religious and philosophical grounds for giving, the psychology and evolution of altruism, the relationship between democracy and philanthropy, as well as the effectiveness of various philanthropic platforms, how social media and philanthrocapitalism are changing the field, and the future of global philanthropy. Deogratias (Deo) Niyizonkiza, founder and director of Village Health Works in Burundi, will give the keynote address and talk with Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Tracy Kidder, who wrote about Deo’s remarkable life in his book, Strength in What Remains, on Thursday, December 6, at 6:00pm.
