Program Information Sessions

Program information sessions are usually the first contact that aspiring students have with The New School. Held in an open forum, these typically include a presentation and Q&A with faculty and admission representatives. Information sessions are scheduled at convenient times for working students. Join us for one of our upcoming information sessions.

Admission Workshops

Find out more about what The New School for Social Research looks for in applicants and learn how to put a solid application together.  We discuss the application essays in detail, focusing on the purpose of each essay in the admission process, how they are evaluated, and tips on preparing for and writing them.  We also cover transfer credits, financial aid, and other items important in the application process.

On the Road

Representatives from the Office of Admission travel around the country all year long to meet with prospective candidates. We attend graduate fairs in most major metropolitan areas and host regional informational meetings in a number of cities. We look forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming events this fall. If we are not traveling to a location near you, please call us and we will make every effort to arrange for a trip to meet with a group of prospective students in a city near you.

Fall 2014 events will be announced in early August. Please check back for updates.
