A Conversation with Today's Philanthropists

This coming September, Milano will host the third Big Ideas, Big Gifts, Big Impact: A Conversation with Today's Philanthropists: Susan A. Buffett, Chairman of Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation and David Rockefeller Jr. Trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation.

Susan A. Buffett is Chairman of The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation and The Sherwood Foundation.  The Sherwood Foundation focuses on several areas including early childhood education for low-income families.  The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation works globally on women’s health issues and nuclear disarmament. Susie also serves on several nonprofit boards including D.A.T.A. (Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa), Girls Inc. and the Ounce of Prevention Fund.
 

David Rockefeller, Jr. is trustee of The Rockefeller Foundation and The Museum of Modern Art. Mr. Rockfeller has been an active participant in the areas of environment, philanthropy, arts and public education.

Mr. Rockefeller is an advisor and former vice chair of the Alaska Conservation Foundation, and founder of Alaska Fund for the Future, an organization dedicated to preserving the Alaskan natural environment. Mr. Rockefeller is also a trustee of the Asian Cultural Council, a founding trustee of The Cantata Singers in Boston, and member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

His former foundation affiliations have included service as trustee and chairman of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, president of the Rockefeller Family Fund, and trustee of the Boston Foundation.
