Jun Oshima, Media Studies, '09
Jun is from Tokyo, Japan. After spending six years working in advertising, Jun decided to come to New York to study and reinforce his career in media. He has been fascinated by the production courses offered by the Media Studies program in audio, video, digital design, music video, and film. After studying all of these, Jun has begun to pursue his longterm dream of working in music video production.
For class assignments and personal projects, Jun has been shooting music videos for New York based hip-hop musicians and dancers. He is also shooting short films and documentaries on '90s hip-hop music in New York. Jun plans to write his graduate thesis on hip-hop and advertising. His work can be experienced here.
Jun is very happy combining his love of music with his professional life. He has said there is no better creative environment for himself than The New School's Media Studies program and New York City.
