Abstract: American Transit is a web-based project that explores the sounds of transit and how they are listened to. Sounds of transit are perhaps the most heard yet least listened to of all urban sounds. By re-contextualizing these sounds, the project promotes the practice of a more activated and deliberate listening to the everyday world.
