Morgan Roche,

Morgan finished the Media Studies Program in May 2008, and has since worked on a music video for a Nigerian Hip-Hop Artist and as Production Manager on a cell phone commercial. A majority of the coursework she took at the New School was in the area of film theory. Among the courses she absolutely loved are "Post-Modern Film Theory" and "Form and Meaning in Film". She wrote, shot, and edited two short films, and worked on about a dozen other productions in every capacity from sound, to gaffer, and even director of photography.

Morgan moved to New York in 2003 to pursue her love of media, and after working in a number of post-production facilities, and on a number of film productions (check her credits on IMDB.com) she met friends who had taken some continuing education courses at the New School. This prompted her to check out the program Media Studies program. I loved the look of the courses and facilities."

She became a very active student and got a job with the program's film department. There she offered to help on other students' shoots and got to learn all aspects of operating the equipment.

Living on campus for the first year of her masters degree, she enjoyed living with a "cool" array of people. I always had someone willing to be a guinea pig for my film/video projects, and always had someone willing to read my work and help inspire me to make future work."

Morgan had lived in NYC for almost 3 years before starting studies at The New School, but until she began her studies, "the city was never really alive for me, each corner I turn now has a memory or a story for me to tell of my adventures here at The New School."
