The Mannes Student Advisory Council conducted its first meeting in October. In an effort to increase communication between students, faculty, and staff, the council aims to create an open forum for students to voice their concerns. The first three council meetings addressed several issues, ranging from instituting a student newsletter to administering teacher evaluations to improving practice room schedules. Several solutions are already being implemented including provisions for receptions after Sunday recitals, future student access to e-mail and PCs within the building, and a teacher evaluation form. The council consists of Dean Lester, Dean's Assistant Kathy Dinges, and student members Louise Dubin, Nora Kosztolany, Keisha Jones, Rachel Levine, Noah Matalon, Terry Orcutt, Jodi Singer, Erica Strauss, and Angela Robinson.
