Haim Avitsur (B.M. '97, trombone), a trombone student in the Master's degree program, performed with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and will present a solo recital at Bar-Ilan University in Israel this upcoming March.

Lielle Berman, a voice student in the Bachelor's degree program, won the Judith Bardi Rosenthal Award at the Connecticut Opera Guild's 43rd Annual Scholarship Competition. Lei Huo, a student in the Professional Studies Program, won 7th prize at the competition.

Alexia Borenstein, a violin student in the Master's degree program, performed at the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival with violinist Alicia Svigals.

Erin Callahan, a voice student in the Master's degree program, was the Third Prize Winner in the 28th Annual Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition.

Monica Engelgau, a student in the Bachelor's degree program, toured as first clarinetist with the American-Russian Youth Orchestra. The ensemble presented concerts for six weeks in both the United States and Russia.

José Antonio Garciá de Jesús, a bass student in the Master's degree program, was selected to be a member of the World Youth Orchestra 1997.

Rachel Levine, a voice student in the Master's degree program, was the regional winner in the MacCallister Awards College Division this summer.

Haelim Youn, a violin student in the Master's degree program, performed at the Elan Music Festival in Stowe, Vermont this summer.
