Members of the Mannes community find themselves in a warm, family-like environment where they quickly make new friends with whom they enjoy the many cultural and social riches of New York City.
In addition to attending each other's performances, students frequent concerts and lectures at famous New York venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, the Metropolitan Opera House, the 92nd Street Y, and Merkin Concert Hall. Free tickets are occasionally made available through the Mannes Concert Office.
With a New School ID card, students gain discounted access to outstanding museums, landmarks, and tourist attractions.
In addition to attending traditional cultural events and institutions, Mannes students organize a number of social gatherings among themselves.
