Extension Division Faculty
A Native of Taiwan, Chi-Chi Lin began her musical career at the age of three, studying the violin. She was one of the youngest musicians to medal at the 1984 National Competition of Taiwan. Ms. Lin furthered her violin studies in New York with Albert Markov at Manhattan School of Music. She became the youngest acceptance to the Orchestral Conducting program at Mannes College, and graduated with a BM under the direction of Michael Charry. She has conducted the Tainan Teacher's College Orchestra and performed with the Tainan Youth Orchestra in Taiwan. She has conducted Mannes Repertory Orchestra in New York. In 1999 Ms. Lin bacame the Assistant Conductor at the Children's Orchestra Society in Long Island and performed 2 concerts with the Kinderorchestra. Under the tutelage of Karen Ritscher, Ms. Lin earned her MM and Professional Studies Diploma in viola from Mannes College. As the winner of the Mannes College Lower-Strings Competition in 1999, Ms. Lin was featured with the Mannes Orchestra under the direction of Maestro John Maucheri at Sypmhony Space. In April 2000, Ms. Lin was invited to participate at the International Musician's Seminar in Prissia Cove, England. She is currently on the faculty at Hoff-Barthelson Music School. She has been on the Mannes Extension Division faculty since 2002.
