Graduate studies at Indiana University.
Conductted in New York's Lincoln Center; played piano in Tokyo's Suntory Hall; appeared at London's Wigmore Hall and Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenessee. Has appeared with Kathleen Battle, Sylvia McNair, Ben Heppner, and Christine Schaefer. New York City Opera debut leading La Traviata, 2002-03 season. Former Music Director for New York City Opera National Company and Mobile (Alabama) Opera. Has served on conducting staff for Metropolitan Opera. Worked with composer Tan Dun on premier of Marco Polo; prepared Hong Kong and Tokyo Philharmonics for performances. Appeared as pianist wtih Eileen Farrell. Accompanied master classes with Elizabeth Schwarzkopf and Carlo Bergonzi, among others. Faculty, Mannes College of Music.
