Dr. Shapiro has been a member of the Mannes conducting faculty since 1997; during his tenure at Mannes he has created and supervised the Mannes Repertory Vocal Ensemble, conducted opera performances, and led the Mannes Chorus, which appeared under his direction at the United Nations. Dr. Shapiro has team-taught courses in Music and Mind and the Science of Music and Sound at the New School with Michael Schober and David Morgan.
