Nina Beilina-Chudnovsky
Central Music School in Moscow; Moscow Conservatory; graduate work at Leningrad Conservatory. Principal teachers: Yampolsky, Eidlin, and Oistrakh.

First prize, International Enesco Competition in Romania; grand prize, Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris; third prize, Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Has appeared in numerous recitals at Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York, at Santa Cecilia in Jerusalem, and in Chicago, Baltimore, and St. Louis. Solo appearances with Cape Town Symphony, Orpheus and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestras, and RAI Orchestra of Milan, Rome, and Turin. Premiered numerous works, including Schnittke's Suite in the Old Style, Boris Tischenko's Violin Fantasy, and Mark Kopytman's Dedication, all written for her. Extensive discography on Russia's Melodya label. Artistic director, founder, and soloist of Bachanalia Chamber Orchestra. Taught at Gorky Conservatory in the Soviet Union, 1968-76. Master classes in Italy, Korea, and Taiwan. Violin faculty, Mannes College The New School for Music, since 1977.
