The Extension Division welcomes all who wish to pursue music for their own self improvement and enjoyment—from adult beginners seeking musical outlets to working professionals wishing to refine their musical skills or add new ones.
Continuing Education
We offer continuing education courses in instrumental and vocal performance, composition, theory, music history, early music, opera, music technology, and career development.
Diploma Program
The Extension Division offers the Mannes Extension Diploma, an undergraduate diploma program for musicians with a college degree in another field who seek a conservatory education in a flexible environment.
Student Body
We serve approximately 350 adult continuing education students representing diverse levels of musical experience, from beginners to professionals, and about 70 students in the Extension Diploma program.
