Haydn: String Quartet in G Major, Op. 76 No. 1 Hindemith: String Quartet No. 4, Op. 22 Mendelssohn: String Quartet No. 2 in A Minor, Op. 13
As grand prize winners of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in 2011 and the Coleman and Chesapeake International Chamber Music Competitions in 2012, the Calidore Quartet is one of the most notable young chamber music ensembles in America. Formed at the Colburn School in 2010, the quartet consists of violinists Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, violist Jeremy Berry, and cellist Estelle Choi.
Based in Los Angeles, Calidore is named after “California” and “doré,” (French for “golden”), in homage to the golden state. Calidore brings chamber music to life for their audiences as they share their passion and joy for string-quartet performance.
Founded in 1957, the Schneider Concerts chamber music series is praised as being “one of the best deals in town for lovers of classical music” by the New York Times. The series has presented many of the world’s chamber music notables before their rise to fame: Peter Serkin, the Guarneri String Quartet, and Tashi made their New York debuts in Schneider Concerts, and Yefim Bronfman, Yo-Yo Ma, and Murray Perahia performed in the series early in their careers.
