Conversation Groups

Is your first language one other than English? Do you wish you had a comfortable place in which to practice what you know and to learn new vocabulary and expressions? The Learning Center holds ESL conversation groups (PDF) every other Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. (see dates below). The sessions offer interactive discussions and activities designed to expand your English speaking and listening skills. The groups are informal and operate on a drop-in basis. There is no need to sign up in advance. All we ask is that you come ready to participate. So come chat, meet new people, and have a good time.

Speech Services

ESL specialists are available to tutor you one-on-one to help you improve your English speaking skills. You can work on any area that you think needs improvement: Daily conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary and slang, presentation, or class participation. Just tell your tutor what you would like to work on. Please indicate your interest in this kind of session by entering "speech" when you make your appointment. Speech appointments are limited to the standard length of one hour and cannot be extended to two hours.
