Carol S. Cantrell, Senior Vice President for Human Resources and Labor Relations
Carol came to The New School in 2000 after 10 years as the chief human resources officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Prior to joining the Met, Carol held several positions with the City of New York, including deputy commissioner level positions in the Mayor's Office of Operations, the Department of Personnel, the Human Resources Administration, and the Child Welfare Administration. Carol's New York City experience spanned 11 years, nine positions and five city agencies. Earlier positions in Carol’s career included that of Manpower Planner for the Bluegrass Employment and Training Program in Lexington Kentucky, and General Manager of "El Paso del Norte" a historical outdoor drama in El Paso, Texas. She holds a BA from the University of Texas at El Paso.
