Recognizing the value that faculty members bring to the university through their scholarship, The New School is committed to supporting faculty research and creative and professional practice. The key research support functions of the Office of the Provost are

  • Providing guidelines and policies for sponsored research and the Institutional Review Board
  • Building research capabilities through trainings, workshops, forums, and sharing of best practices among the divisions of the university
  • Facilitating faculty research collaborations and networks internally and externally
  • Providing strategic proposal development support to PIs, Project Directors, and graduate students pursuing sponsored research project awards at the university
  • Providing pre-award technical review and online proposal submission assistance for federal funding agencies
  • Administering internal grants programs available to full- and part-time faculty, including the Academic Events Fund and Faculty Research Fund  
  • Conducting outreach and disseminating information about research opportunities and deadlines within The New School academic community.
