Sydney Kopp-Richardson, Coordinator of Operations and Student Engagement Social Justice, Provost's Office

Sydney Kopp-Richardson, Coordinator of Operations and Student Engagement for Social Justice. Following a career of community organizing and direct service, I completed my M.S. in Urban Policy Analysis at The New School in May 2012. During my graduate work, I was a Research Assistant with the Office of Social Justice Initiatives, focusing on social justice learning models to inform New School academics. My coursework and research focused on community development, poverty policy, and the dynamics of power and community marginalization in policy formation. My previous work with health care reform and homeless communities in Chicago and Los Angeles combined direct service provision with education and organizing to combat community-identified issues such as displacement, discriminatory policing, and health care funding. I am committed to supporting the crucial social justice work at the university and beyond. My drive is to learn ways to connect marginalized voices to the policy process.
