Monique Ngozi Nri, Senior Director of International Student Services, The New School. I am a writer, performer, community activist, and administrator of Nigerian, Barbadian and British descent. My interest and experience in social justice issues includes my research on unequal access to local housing and education services for French citizens from Martinique and Guadeloupe in the Parisian suburb of St Denis for my master’s thesis in Public Policy and Administration. I was also the acting Director of the Women’s Department and the Equalities Manager in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, creating policies and practice to ensure equal access to local government services for diverse groups. My organizing experience includes chairing several non profit voluntary organizations and some teaching. I am partner with my husband, Ahmed Abdullah, in Melchizedek Music Productions which works to bring “Jazz, a music of the spirit” back into Bedford Stuyvesant. Email:
