Jim Briggs is an audio engineer and musician residing in Brooklyn, NY. His work has been heard on PRI’s Selected Shorts, WNYC Radio’s Radiolab, Here’s the Thing with Alec Baldwin, and Soundcheck. He mixed WNYC’s hour-long documentary special Living 9/11, and was a team recipient of the Dart Award for Excellence in Coverage of Trauma in 2012. He has also mixed, recorded and edited sound for films and television shows including many episodes of PBS’ American Experience, the miniseries We Shall Remain, and The Supreme Court, with premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival, Cinesonika Festival, and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. He has a long-standing collaborative relationship with Adrienne Westwood and VIA Dance Collaborative, and his sound design for dance has been presented at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Jacob’s Pillow, The Firkin Crane (Cork, Ireland), and in New York City public parks.
