Profile:Andy Milne composes for multiple projects in which he is a
principle performer and improviser. His music spans everything from
contrapuntal, odd-metered grooves, free improvisation, and multi-form
structures, to orchestral and prepared piano textures. In 2011, after being
awarded the prestigious Civitella Fellowship, Milne began creating a new large
ensemble work, “The Seasons of Being”. He recently completed the film score for
“The Captains”, a new documentary produced by William Shatner. He is a 2012
PennPAT roster member, recipient of numerous commissions and grants from
Chamber Music America and The Canada Council. Milne is currently on the
faculties of both The New School and New York University.
