Producer/annotator of new and reissued recordings for many labels; producer/writer of four NPR Jazz Profiles. Frequent host of Jazz From The Archives, WBGO-FM. Editor, A Miles Davis Reader (Smithsonian Press, 1997) and The Oxford Companion To Jazz (Oxford University Press, 2000).
