Abercrombie, Bobby McFerrin, Dewey Redman, Bobby Hutcherson, Joe Henderson,
Woody Shaw, Freddie Hubbard, and Clifford Jordan, as well as popular music
stars including Sting, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Elton John, and Barbra
Streisand. Principal bassist with the New York Pops Orchestra at Carnegie Hall,
Mr. Carney has played with the New York Philharmonic, the San Francisco
Symphony and the Broadway orchestras for Secret Garden, Beauty and the Beast
and Anything Goes. As a studio player, he can be heard on many jingles and film
soundtracks including "True Grit", featured bassist on "Julie
& Julia", "The Producers", Shaft 2 and many more.
