Spring 2013 Ensemble and Recital Series: Caleb Brown, drums
New School Jazz student Caleb Brown (drums) presents his senior recital.
This recital is structured according to the norms and formal guidelines of postmodern and particularly conceptual poetry. Most of the songs are about plagiarism, and the rest are political works aimed at tearing down the oppressive regime of truth as a goal or ideal. The recital will draw from a broad range of genres, from Jazz and Rock all the way to no music at all. Caleb Brown is a drummer, composer, and user experience designer. In the context of music, the audience member is the “user” and the experience of the user/audience member is “inscrutable”. Caleb strives to create experiences in which the user/audience member is more or less confused than Caleb is.
