Eyes of the Entrepreneurs featuring Justin Kantor & David Handler

4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The Eyes of the Entrepreneurs series is dedicated to empowering artists to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset in taking
responsibility for their art and their career. More than ever before, musicians are their own businesses. Each week we feature notable guest artists, who will discuss the paths they took in developing their vision and life in music, as well concepts like authenticity and integrity, skill development, community building, networking, and more.

"In 2008, Justin Kantor and David Handler, two classical musicians in their late twenties, opened a club called (Le) Poisson Rouge, on the site of the storied old Village Gate, on Bleecker Street. They had the idea that classical music would be best served not in the standard configuration - what Handler has called the "preacher-and-congregation seating arrangement" of the standard hall - but in a jazz-club setting, with patrons seated at tables, waiters serving food and drink, and performers talking about their work. Kantor and Handler were hardly the first to make such a move, but they have done so in a stylish and attention-getting way." - Alex Ross, The New Yorker
