This class focuses on performing the early compositions of Ornette Coleman. An aural and intuitive approach to learning his compositions as well as improvising is emphasized. The course explores music from his early albums including Something Else, This is Our Music, Tomorrow is the Question, and The Shape of Jazz to Come. Final enrollment is at the discretion of the instructor. 2 credits
