Charles Mingus, one of the most important composers/band leaders in jazz history, contributed much to the formation of modern jazz. This class is devoted to listening, analysis, and especially performance of Mingus’ compositions. Attention is focused on capturing the experimental spirit of the Mingus Jazz Workshop.
