It is highly recommended that students apply during Entrance Audition Period 1, as acceptance and scholarships are available on a limited basis to students auditioning during Audition Period 2.

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSIONS
Please refer to the website www.jazz.newschool.edu to apply online or download the application. If you cannot access a computer, please contact the Jazz Admissions Office. Applicants to the BA/BFA Combined Degree Program must complete the online application.

FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIP
Students are encouraged to file the FAFSA form (online at www.fafsa.ed.gov) to determine eligibility for federal grants and loans. Students may receive a merit scholarship award determined at the initial audition as part of the acceptance package.

SCHOOL VISITS/TOURS
Prospective students and their families are welcome to tour the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music facilities. Tours are offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 3:00 p.m. while school is in session. Please call at least one week in advance. You will be shown the facility and then have the opportunity to observe one of our improvisation ensembles. Students interested in scheduling a tour should call the Jazz Admissions Office at 212.229.5896 x4589.

APPLICATION FEE WAIVER
An application fee waiver request will be considered in cases of extreme financial hardship. It must be substantiated by a letter from the applicant's guidance counselor or by the submission of the “Request for Fee Waiver” form, available from the College Entrance Examination Board. This form must accompany the application. Student applying for the joint BA/BFA degree may send a single application found online at www.jazz.newschool.edu.
