An integral part of the Graduate Program in International Affairs is gaining hands-on experience working with diverse organizations. The International Field Program (IFP) provides practical field experiences through work with NGOs, IOs, and government and local agencies, as well as a unique link between its classroom curriculum and ongoing research in the world of practice. Students on-site explore specific questions and problems from a theoretical standpoint. The 2009 GPIA International Field Program offers ten unique summer programs ranging from rural community development fieldwork to internships with international organizations. Participating students earn six credits toward their GPIA degree.
