Release Announcement: So it finally happened. The 2008 issue of Contexts, GPIA's yearly student-run journal, is now ready and waiting for your consumption. The release party was such a success, in fact, that we cannot fill each and every of the mailboxes who so graciously helped host the party. In other words, more then 100 journals were picked up at the release party last week. Granted, some probably took more then two, but either way it was a great turnout! Thank you to all who showed up! And a big thank you to those who brought food and drink. You contributions were enjoyed and very much appreciated!
If you couldn't make the party, worry not. Your journal, along with stacks of others just like it, are awaiting all throughout the GPIA office for you to come and grab one. Just stop by, pick one up, then go talk to a professor about your late midterms.
Lets quickly breakdown what's inside this time around:
- 10 written pieces (eight essays, two fiction) by recent and graduated GPIA students, with two being penned by faculty
- A 14-page photo spread, courtesy of Another Look 2008 , GPIA's own participatory photography project with the International Field Program
- Full color inside and out
- Nifty little illustrations that go along with each piece
- Quality writing that's accessible, knowledgeable, and enlightening—seriously
Also, as promised, Contexts has a new online home: www.contextsjournal.com.
Go click around, get noisy, and enjoy this year's issue in cyberspace (some online-only content is there as well!). You can also download a PDF of this year's journal here, for those located in distant lands.
Thank you again for your time and enjoy your week! And go pick up and issue!
