Admission to the graduate program in International Affairs is based on a number of factors. Applications are reviewed by an admission committee consisting of admission counselors, the director and assistant director of the program, and members of the faculty. Each applicant's statement of purpose, academic writing sample, academic transcripts, résumé/work history, and letters of recommendation are carefully considered when evaluating candidates for this master's degree program.
Prospective students are encouraged to apply well in advance of the published deadlines. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure receipt of all materials by the Office of Admission. Applicants are encouraged to utilize our online application system.

Submitting your application online
The online application allows you to save and retrieve your application information. You can gather items to fulfill the application requirements and then submit the final application at your convenience. Here is a brief overview of the process:
- Read the Application Instructions carefully
- Log on to create an application account
- Review and complete the online application form.
- Add/Upload the required writing samples and your résumé to the Web application. Please upload documents in PDF or Word format.
- Make sure to proofread your application and print a copy for your own records.
- Complete the online application process by signing electronically, paying the $50 application fee, and submitting the application.
- Transcripts should be mailed along with the Materials Cover Sheet.
Paper Application
All applicants are expected to submit the online application. Under extenuating circumstances, a paper applications is available upon request.
