Program Information Sessions
Program information sessions are usually the first contact that
aspiring students have with The New School. Held in an open forum,
these typically include a presentation and Q&A with faculty and
admission representatives. Information sessions are scheduled at
convenient times for working students.

Individual Admission Appointments
One-on-one appointments with an admission counselor can be scheduled
Monday through Friday*, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 212.229.5630 to make an
appointment with the Office of Admission at The New School for General
Studies.
(*Please note: New School offices are closed on Fridays
through August 7.)
Special Admission Workshops
The $50 application fee will be waived for applicants who attend one
of the following workshops (details are discussed at the event).
Application Days/Personalized Admission Services
Bachelor's
Program Application Days allow prospective students to submit their
applications in person and meet individually with an admission
counselor. If you bring official or student copies of your college
transcripts, we can give you a preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation
on the spot.

Demystifying the Application Essays
Our
facilitators will discuss the three required application essays, their
purposes, and how they are scored. Tips on preparing for and writing
the essays are given, and feedback will be provided for essay drafts
submitted prior to or in the days directly following the workshop.
Online Chats
Group Chat
Online chats are scheduled throughout
the year for prospective students. These real-time chats are hosted by
an admission counselor and provide answers about the program, the
faculty, and the university. No special software is required.
