Voice Activated Dialing
The NuPoint Messenger Speech Auto Attendant routes calls based on spoken commands. Say the name of the person you want to speak to and the system transfers your call to the requested party.
To access the Voice Activated Dialing System,
- dial 212-229-7007 (or internally by dialing x7007) and say the name of the person you wish to reach.
To record a name for the first time on the New School's Speech Auto Attendant System,
- dial 212-229-7007 (or internally by dialing x7007) from your personal phone extension. The system will prompt you to record your name in the speech attendant mailbox. Continue following the system’s instructions.
Setting Up a Conference Call
To form a conference call when a two-party call is already in place, or to add another party to an existing conference call:
- Press TRANS/CONF
- Dial the number of the next party
- Wait for an answer
- Press TRANS/CONF
To form a Conference for up to six parties:
- Press TRANS/CONF
- Dial the number of the next party
- Wait for an answer
- Press TRANS/CONF
- Repeat the above procedure until all parties are on line
To leave a Conference:
External Domestic Calling
To place an external domestic call
- Dial 9+1, then enter the area code and seven digit number
International Calling
You need to have a Restricted Account PIN Code to place international calls. Submit a Service Order Request Form to get a Restricted Account PIN.
To make an international call using your Restricted Account PIN
- Lift handset
- Dial * * 3
- Enter your PIN number
- When dial tone returns dial 9 + your number
