Events IT (formerly Media Services) provides equipment and technical assistance to faculty and administrators presenting media in classrooms, conferences and meetings, and technical support for staging events in auditoriums other event spaces.
Requests are subject to equipment availability which is not guaranteed.
Standard Hours of Operation are as follows:
- Monday - Friday: 8:00am – 10:00pm
- Saturday: 9am - 5pm during Spring and Fall terms.
- CLOSED on Sundays.
Required Lead Time: All event requests must be made at least 7 days in advance. (Class sessions meeting beyond normal hours of operation are considered events.) Requests for Events held in The University’s Halls and Auditoriums require a minimum of 2 weeks notice. All events in Tishman Auditorium will require a technician for the duration of the event. Labor fees may apply. Please book ahead.
Reservation Length: Flexible start and end times during hours of operation.
- Semester-Long AV Request - every session throughout the term.
- Occasional AV Request - some sessions, but not all. Specify dates.
- One-Time AV Request - one date.

Faculty and staff may request event support and audio visual equipment delivery via our online form located at MyNewSchool > Services tab > Events IT
You will be notified as to the status of your request via follow-up email within 2 business days. During the first 2 weeks of the fall and spring terms, the submission of AV delivery requests are permitted 2 business days in advance. If you need to make any corrections, changes, cancellations of service, reply to the notification email in advance of your session. Include the entire correspondence.
Equipment may not be used or relocated off school premises. It is your responsibility to obtain copyright clearance for any video clips, audio clips, film clips, or feature length films you plan on using. Please contact the permissions staff within the library at email@example.com as soon as possible when seeking permission to show a video. Permissions to publicly show materials can take up to 6 weeks to secure.
Requests are made using an online form for quality control. Login to MyNewSchool > Services tab > Events IT.
