Incoming Students: 2012–2013

Welcome to Parsons. These pages contain information for students who have been admitted for the spring 2013 semester.

Your next steps are scheduling an academic advising appointment, preparing for registration, and attending your school's orientation. Please note the following dates and information.

ADVISING AND REGISTRATION

Beginning in December, students who have submitted the Admission Reply Form and required Tuition Deposit will receive an email from the Office of Advising introducing their academic advisors and giving them directions for scheduling an advising appointment and registration. All new students must have submitted the Admission Reply Form and required Tuition Deposit in order to register.

ENGLISH COURSE PLACEMENT TEST

All new students who are not native English speakers must take the English Course Placement Test, regardless of fluency, previous English coursework, degrees/diplomas from US institutions, TOEFL score, or SAT score. If English is not your first language, you must take the test. There are no exceptions.

The test is composed of the following sections: listening comprehension (recorded speech followed by multiple-choice questions), grammar questions (multiple choice), reading comprehension questions (multiple choice), one 30-minute essay (choice of two topics), and a brief oral interview.
