New Hires and Employment Status Changes

Newly appointed full-time faculty members, newly hired full-time and regular part-time administrative staff members, and existing employees who experience employment status changes will receive an email invitation via their New School email account inviting them to attend an upcoming benefits orientation.  Please view the information found in the Full-Time Faculty and Full-Time & Regular Part-Time Administrative Staff section of this site for detailed information about the benefit plans available to you.

New Appointments

New employees become eligible for most benefits on the first of the month following one full month of employment. You must complete and submit your benefits enrollment forms within 31 days of your date of hire. (Note: If you do not enroll in the Health Care or Dental Care insurance plans or set up a Flexible Spending Account within 31 days of your appointment or date of hire, you cannot be enrolled in these plans for the current calendar year, and your next opportunity to enroll will be during the fall Open Enrollment period for coverage effective on January 1 of the following year.)

Change in Employment Status
