The New School's Graduation Pledge

ONLY STUDENTS GRADUATING IN FALL 2012 AND SPRING 2013 ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE

A commitment to social and environmental stewardship beyond college

This is the third year The New School joins hundreds of other higher education institutions in offering a Graduation Pledge, an initiative launched by students over 20 years ago and now overseen by the Graduation Pledge Alliance. In 2012, 488 students, or 15% of the graduating class, signed the pledge, up from 377 (and nearly 12% of graduates) in 2011.

By committing to the pledge below, you will be joining a global community of graduates dedicated to improving society and the environment through their careers. Signatories of the pledge will also demonstrate this commitment by wearing a green tassel at Commencement. (Pick up your green tassel at Cap and Gown Distribution in May.)

I pledge to explore and take into account the social and environmental consequences of any job I consider and will try to improve these aspects of any organizations for which I work.

All fields are required.
