International Students, Scholars and Professors
International Student Services seeks to foster a high level of international education exchange and to enhance the intellectual, artistic, cultural and social development of students, scholars, exchange visitors, faculty and administrative staff in a welcoming environment.
We aim to achieve this by:
- Providing expertise and support throughout the US visa application process and offering advisement on the maintenance of US legal status, employment, reinstatement, change of status, program changes and other immigration related matters.
- Advising incoming students and scholars on US higher education systems and cultural adjustment issues and supporting US students seeking new lands to explore through Fulbright study abroad programs.
- Promoting excellent international programming within the University which connects with vibrant New York City and global resources and working towards internationalization.
Bridge the world one person at a time.

ISS Check In
All internationals are required to attend orientation and check in with International Student Services. These two requirements allow us to check documents to see that internationals were properly admitted into the U.S.,to ensure SEVIS compliance; to review with them their rights and responsibilities, and to be able to get in touch with them should the regulations prescribing their rights and responsibilities change. Finally, it gives the International Student Advisor information needed to customize one-on-one advising sessions offering each individual the information and advice needed.
Please go to the following website for the ISS check in procedure.
