In
order to foster a healthy environment for students, New School University
maintains a four-part health program that includes on-campus medical,
counseling, and health education services; a student health insurance
plan; and an immunization program.
Student
Health Services offers educational programs and treatment, including
medical and psychological care, and is available to all degree,
diploma, nonmatriculating (both undergraduate and graduate), and
graduate certificate program students who have paid the semester
fee. The professional staff includes licensed nurses, physicians,
physician assistants, nurse practitioners, psychologists, psychiatrists,
psychological counselors, and clinical social workers. The student
health insurance plan is available to all students listed above
and offers low-cost coverage for many off-campus services. All students
who enroll for services offered by SHS are automatically covered
by an accident insurance plan at no additional cost. In addition,
several immunization clinics are scheduled by SHS each year.
