GF Executive and Budget (2)

This body is composed of the GF Dean, all GF Department Chairs, the Associate and Assistant Deans, and two GF student reps chosen by the GFSS. It meets every-other Tuesday from 2:00-4:00, but the body is asked to hold open the space every Tuesday in the case a meeting is necessary. It is a relatively closed space, so student reps need to be prepared to commit to these time slots, as well as to updating the GFSS on important issues that arise out of the E&B meetings. This is the primary space where the Dean and the Chairs meet to discuss matters relevant to the GF and the rest of the University.

This is an internal GF committee consisting of 2 faculty, 2 students and an administrator. The committee hears appeals from students generally regarding grade appeals, dismissals, and academic policies as they have affected students. When hearing an appeal, committee members must review case history, meet to deliberate about a case, and make recommendations to the GF dean about how to rule on a case. Meets and reviews about 2 cases a year.

University Committee on Learning Resources (1)

The mission of the committee is to advise the Provost's Office on the acquisition, delivery, improvement, and incorporation into university curricula of learning resources in all formats for the purpose of teaching, learning, and research." In the 2003-2004 academic year the committee focused on "the ethical uses of information (i.e., educating the university population about the use of intellectual property in the electronic environment, software selection, and the implementation of a university-wide information literacy agenda.

This is a university wide committee with representation from the administrations of the individual schools under the New School banner and the upper administration of New School University proper. At the time of writing, the only student representation came from the GF. This committee deals with student resources, such as the study space in the reading room, and administrative services to students, for example the late fee. In the 2003-2004 academic year the committee focused on new housing, the new "help desk" in the GF, issues regarding convocation, graduation etc., as well as the move to the late fee.

Speaker (1)

5.a. THE SPEAKER shall have moderating duties and will be the liaison with the GF administration.
5.a.1 IN addition, the Speaker will be responsible, for submitting roll-call records to each departmental association and organization.
5.a.2 THE Speaker shall take roll-call at the beginning of each session of the body.
  

1st Secretary (1)

5.b. THE 1st SECRETARY shall have minute taking duties and shall be in charge of organizing and moderating the Fee Board.
5.b.1 IN addition, the 1st Secretary shall be responsible for the implementation of the yearly budget voted by the body.
5.b.2 THE 1st Secretary will report back to the body on the activities of the Fee Board.
  

2nd Secretary (1)

5.c. THE 2nd SECRETARY shall have moderating and minute taking duties and shall be in charge of the organization and distribution of information.
5.c.1 IN addition, the Second Secretary will be responsible for the maintenance of the body's instrument of communication protecting its autonomy and optimizing its operation.
5.c.2 The Second Secretary will distribute the minutes of each Session no later than 5 days after the body has adjourned.
5.d. ONLY the three executive officers shall have access to the GFSS account of electronic mail within the Graduate Faculty being its official administrator the Second Secretary.
